DPP (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our web application (the “application”). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the DPP application. We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “last updated” date of this privacy policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this privacy policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised privacy policy by your continued use of the application after the date such revised privacy policy is posted.

COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. Much of the information collected via the application depends on your actions and the permissions you grant or deny within the application.

PERSONAL DATA
Includes demographic and other personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide when creating an account to use DPP. This may include your student’s gender, your gender, location, number of children in or graduated from college, occupation, email address, and any additional information you provide when setting up your account. This information is used solely for research and program purposes and is not visible to other users.

ACCOUNT DATA & PRIVACY SETTINGS

When you create a DPP account, you will be asked to enter personal details and create a username and password. This information is stored securely and used to personalize your experience with the DPP program. All profile data is private and not visible to other users. No identifying information, including your name, email address, or responses, will be shared with other participants.

DERIVATIVE DATA
Derivative data includes information collected automatically in connection with your use of the DPP web application. This includes profile information you provide and your responses to text messages sent as part of the DPP program. These responses may include selections, feedback, or other interactions with the program’s prompts. This data is used for internal evaluation, research, and to inform program improvements. It may also be included in aggregate, de-identified form in research reports, presentations, or publications. Your individual responses will never be visible to other users and will not be published or shared in any way that could identify you personally.

USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

Having accurate information about you helps us provide a smooth, relevant, and effective experience with the DPP program. Specifically, we may use information collected about you through the web application and related text messaging system to:

Create and manage your DPP account.
Customize and deliver text message content tailored to your role as a parent of a first-year college student.
Monitor and analyze engagement patterns to evaluate and improve the program.
Compile anonymous, aggregate data for research reports, presentations, and publications.
Notify you about program updates or new features.
Request feedback on your experience using DPP.
Contact you for clarification or support related to your participation.
Resolve technical issues or troubleshoot problems.
Respond to inquiries about the program.
Fulfill obligations associated with the research study you consented to participate in.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
DPP does not share your personal information, derivative data, or mobile device data with third parties. Aggregate, de-identified data may be used in research reports, presentations, or publications. Your individual information will never be disclosed in a way that could identify you.

TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
We may use third-party analytics providers (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Heap Analytics) to track usage of the web application. These tools use cookies to help us understand how users engage with the program and improve its content and functionality. We do not share or sell personal information to these vendors, and all analytics data are anonymized before reporting.

SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
We employ the most advanced technologies and internal protocols (layered security, https protocol, SSL certificates, TSL encryption in transit, etc.) To transmit, secure, and store and protect all application data. These protocols safeguard privacy between communicating applications and their users on the internet. Also used to secure bank and credit card transactions online, these protocols ensure that no third-party may eavesdrop or tamper with submitted data. We also limit internal access to your data to only authorized personnel involved in research and program delivery.

POLICY FOR CHILDREN
DPP is intended for adult use only. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will delete such information promptly. Please contact us if you believe this may have occurred.

CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a do-not-track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy policy.

OPTIONS REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION

ACCOUNT INFORMATION
You may at any time review or change the information in your account or terminate your account by:
• logging into your account settings and updating your account
• contacting us using the contact information provided below
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. We may retain limited information in accordance with research recordkeeping requirements, or to prevent fraud and enforce terms.

MESSAGES AND COMMUNICATIONS
By joining DPP, you consent to receive program-related text messages. You may opt out at any time by replying “STOP” to any message. We do not send marketing emails or push notifications.

CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
Under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (“Shine the Light” law), California residents may request information about categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding year. DPP does not disclose personal information for direct marketing purposes. However, if you are a California resident and have questions about your rights, you may contact us using the information below.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will notify users via the contact information provided or through the DPP platform. Continued use of the platform after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
